L'Eau d'Issey Pour Homme Wood & Wood is an eau de parfum from Issey Miyake, launched in 2019 as a limited edition within the house's masculine L'Eau d'Issey line. Its character is woody and aromatic, with the wood accord clearly dominant over supporting touches of citrus, warm spice, powder, amber and fruit.
The opening is bright and clean, with a grapefruit sparkle lifted by cardamom and a resinous edge from elemi. As it settles, a fruity apricot heart and a dry sandalwood come forward, and the base deepens into patchouli and soft woody warmth. The development is gradual rather than abrupt, moving from fresh to richer over the course of wear.
The mood is grounded and composed, with an earthy, natural quality that balances the citrus lift. It tends to sit moderately close to the skin and carries with moderate reach, and it generally lasts for a good part of the day. That makes it suitable for the office, a casual afternoon or a night out.
