Versace Yellow Diamond Intense takes a bright citrus floral and gives it a considerably darker base than the style usually allows.
Bergamot, neroli and citron open it clean and sharp, with the citron bringing a bitter peel quality that keeps the sweetness in check from the start.
Pear sorbet is the signature of the heart, cold and juicy, and it sits with orange blossom, freesia and jasmine. Osmanthus is the material worth noticing here: it carries both fruity and animalic facets, and it quietly bridges the fruit above and the wood below.
Amberwood and guaiac wood finish it dry and slightly smoky, with benzoin and musk adding warmth. That woody base is what the Intense in the name refers to, and it is the difference between this and a straightforward fruity floral.
