Slava Zaïtsev's Maroussia Eau de Toilette is a Russian fragrance launched in 1992, with a powdery, gourmand character set over a warm amber and woody foundation. The opening is bright and aldehydic, lifted by orange blossom, peach and bergamot, before giving way to a white floral heart where tuberose, iris and rose unfold together.
As it settles, the scent deepens into a sweet, warm base. Sandalwood and tonka bean lend a dry, velvety softness, while vanilla and musk add a close, comfortable richness. Animalic and spicy undertones give the composition depth rather than sugariness.
Maroussia is designed for women and suits the cooler months of fall and winter, though its gourmand warmth also works for spring and summer evenings.
