Guerlain Samsara eau de toilette is a powdery, woody and gourmand fragrance from the house's long-standing perfume line. It was launched in 1989 and was crafted by Jean-Paul Guerlain. Its character is warm and enveloping, with a soft floral and iris heart resting on a creamy, sweet foundation rather than sharp brightness.
The opening has a fruity sparkle, with peach and a touch of citrus giving way to a powdery floral centre of jasmine, rose and violet. As it settles, the scent turns sweeter and more enveloping, with sandalwood, vanilla and amber providing warmth and depth.
Samsara tends to project strongly, so a light application goes a long way, and it generally lasts well through a full day.
